It was a glittery and sparkly New Year bash that welcomed 2015 across Asia, when Country Club India hosted a party for its four lakh members, spread globally.

In its 25th year, the Country Club Hospitality and Holidays saw its CMD Rajeev Reddy, his wife Manjula Reddy, CEO Siddharth Reddy and dazzling actress Daisy Shah cut the 25-year celebration cake in Dubai, where the show was anchored by Anusha Dandekar. The pretty Daisy Shah charmed all the members with her performance. 

But India wasn't too far behind when it came to welcoming the New Year with a bang -Gauhar Khan set the stage on fire in Mumbai, even as Sophie Choudry made all those present at the party go weak in their knees in Pune. Gurmeet and Debina enthralled the crowd in Surat and Hussain and Tina gave an awesome performance in Ahmedabad. Sanjjanaa in Hyderabad, Shefali Jariwala in Kolkata, Esha Gupta in Bangalore, Prachi Desai in Delhi and Payal Rohatgi in Nagpur, got the crowd grooving with their performances. Aarti Chabaria rocked the night in Muscat, while Surveen Chawla and Hazel Keech enthralled the crowd in Bahrain and Doha respectively.

We get chatting with the spirited Rajeev Reddy, founder and managing director of The Country Club India as he reveals his likes and dislikes and future plans.

A day in my life... 

My day starts with power training at the gym where my personal trainer guides me through a workout session. This is followed by an energising yoga session. When I am not travelling for work, I manage it from Country Club's head office located in Hyderabad.

A book that inspires me... 

The Godfather by Mario Puzo is my ultimate favourite. The one particular quote that I can relate from the series is "I am going to make him an offer he can't refuse."

My favourite holiday destination is... 

With its pure and serene glaciers and picturesque sights, Alaska is my favourite holiday destination. I thoroughly enjoyed the sightseeing, adventrue, backcountry, water cruise and hiking in Alaska. 

Some of the challenges of being an entrepreneur are... 

Generating new concepts and taking them forward is a challenge. But these challenges are what drive me. Additionally, embracing technology and keeping pace with it is something that I take keen interest in.

My biggest stress busters are... 

I am an avid lover of wildlife. It gives me so much peace to be in and around the natural world. I often visit Africa to experience calmness. Also, swimming has been a major stress buster for me and I make sure that I go for a 1 kilometre swim every day.

The title of my biography would be...

My biography would be known as The Thumbs Up Revolution. Personally, this gesture keeps the atmosphere around me merrier and more motivated. 

My favourite restaurant in Dubai is... 

I enjoy dining at Qureshi's at The Country Club Hotel, as it features live music and the finest Indian cuisine.

A Bollywood personality I met and liked the most is... 

That would be Sushmita Sen as she has a truly charismatic persona.

Navratri is special to me because... 

It is a festival that celebrates coming together of friends and family. We recently celebrated out 7th Navratri celebration in the UAE and it gives me immense happiness to see our families and other visitors come and enjoy the folk dances year after year. 

A memorable event I organised was... 

When Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe in 1994, she celebrated her birthday at the Country Club Hotel in Begumpet, Hyderabad. Another event I am proud of was when our Country Club Team met India's ex Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee while he signed The Country Club Friendship Band to promote harmony between India and Pakistan.

Some of the future plans for Country Club in Dubai are... 

With the phenomenal growth of the real estate sector in Dubai, We are looking to acquire more properties in Dubai. We are also working to explore the possibilities of launching more health clubs in Middle East.

My favourite sport is... 

I am an extreme sport junkie! Scuba diving, white water rafting and skydiving give me an unexplainable adrenaline rush.

My advice to young entrepreneurs would be... 

Dare to dream! Work hard, keep your mind focused on the goal and be passionate about what you set out to do.
